Mitchell Lofts

Mitchell Lofts is a 79-unit loft apartment building at 3800 Commerce St in the Deep Ellum area of Dallas, Texas. The three-story brick building was completed in 1928 as a factory for John E. Mitchell’s company, which produced equipment for the cotton gin industry. During World War II the plant turned out about half a million anti-aircraft projectiles, and after the war it made aftermarket automobile air conditioners. Now converted to apartments, it is a designated City of Dallas Landmark.
